He is also a partner in three food businesses, Rucola, a Northern Italian restaurant in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn; BrisketTown in Williamsburg, Brooklyn; and Kitchensurfing.com. He is a chess player rated around 1900 and was the colour commentator on the live coverage of the man v. machine chess match between Garry Kasparov and the German calculating monster Deep Fritz.
