Goodwill Ambassadors of Chess Award 2024

We believe it is important to showcase good examples and recognise outstanding work. With this idea in mind, in 2018 the Judit Polgar Chess Foundation created an award as an inspiration. Candidates for the title of “Goodwill Ambassador of Chess” are people or organisations who are credible and dedicated promoters and advocates of the game, and whose activities are a testament to the diversity of chess integrating different disciplines. The award is presented by Judit Polgár, the Foundation’s Professional Director, traditionally at the Global Chess Festival.

The Goodwill Ambassador of Chess in Education Award 2024 was given to four people:

  • Dijana Dengler – Educator, Head Chess Instructor at the Overseas Family School in Singapore
  • Csilla Őryné Gombás – teacher, college professor, methodological expert of the Polgár Judit Method
