In 1989, at the age of 12, she took the lead in the adult women’s world rating list, which began with her name for 26 years. At the age of 15 years and 4 months, she won the men’s grandmaster title, breaking Bobby Fischer’s record. During her career, she defeated eleven world champions.

Judit retired from competition in 2014, since then she has been the professional leader of the Judit Polgár Chess Foundation, founded in 2012, promoting the sport on a global level. Together with the involvement of experts and teachers, she developed a skill-building educational methodology for preschool and school-aged children, the Judit Polgár Method (Chess Palace and Chess Program). She writes books, gives talks at seminars, TED-speaker and professional commentator of prominent chess tournaments.
