GLOBAL CHESS FESTIVAL

According to international reviews, it is the most colorful chess festival in the world, an event that celebrates the versatility of chess, showcasing the points of connection between the game and sports, education, culture, science and art. Our foundation has been the main organizer of the Judit Polgar Global Chess Festival since 2015.

MISSION

  • Universality: general popularization of chess, presentation of its application of possibilities and social integrative role.
  • Chess connects: our goal is that within a few years, five million people on five continents of the world will play chess simultaneously within the framework of the festival; collaborate and develop friendships between them, despite differences in space, language, origin, social or age.
  • Global Chess Day: the creation of an annual event where communities from different countries joining the festival can connect with each other in a coordinated joint chess activity on the internet interface of the event.
  • Strengthening family relationships: chess is a game that offers generations within the family points of connection and shared experiences. 
  • Skill development: raising awareness of the Chess Palace Program. With the Judit Polgar Method, children’s school results and learning efficiency are significantly improve, while their creativity, visual thinking, problem-solving skills and memory are enriched.
  • Knowledge sharing: promoting chess as a highly effective educational tool for the digital age. Presentation of Hungarian and international projects.
  • Future generations: emphasizing the importance of talent development and caring for children from disadvantaged backgrounds, with disabilities or in difficult circumstances.
  • Value preservation: announcing and supporting chess study composing contests.
  • Day 1: all-day family programs, chess tournaments, workshops, presentations, lectures in an exclusive venue – opportunity to meet the stars and influencers of the sport, outstanding representatives of education, science and arts.
  • Day 2: Educational Chess Summit is an international educational conference with the participation of recognized international experts. How can we use chess as a game to develop children’s abilities and social skills? How does chess strengthen our ability to collaborate as key to our future?
